Inspired by the local legend of a circus hippo escaping near Hutto in 1915, this design takes the town's most recognizable resident somewhere a little darker. Because, naturally, we gave the hippos a Gothic era. Set against an antique ivory backdrop, pairs of beautifully illustrated hippos nestle within an ornate Victorian damask of curling black foliage, deep burgundy florals and elaborate botanical details. Look closer and you'll discover moths, bats, crescent moons, tiny stars, glowing lanterns and vintage railroad imagery woven throughout the pattern, a quiet nod to the tale that started Hutto's century-long love affair with the hippo.
